After a stalled drive in the third quarter of Sunday’s game between the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders, Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix visibly made his feelings known to head coach Sean Payton.

They were both animated back and forth on the sidelines despite the Broncos having a 20-10 lead:

Nix, Payton and the Broncos appear to be well on their way to their third straight win, so it’s unclear what the cause of such an exchange would be. Denver started the year with low expectations, so a 3-2 win in an AFC West matchup should be enough to boost the team’s morale.

Nix entered the game with under-par numbers of 660 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions while completing 60.1 percent of his passes. However, he had a flawless game entering the fourth quarter against Las Vegas.

Payton expressed his confidence in Nix last week, despite the rookie’s slow start to the season.

“You’re still looking for the perfect picture, the perfect game,” Payton said Wednesday. “I know this Shangri-la doesn’t exist, but the execution and details need to get even better with younger players.”

It appears Nix has taken these words to heart as the Broncos continue to surprise many around the league with their recent success.

Denver will follow Sunday’s game with another AFC West matchup in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers, so a three-game winning streak will certainly give Nix and Payton some confidence despite their brief feud on the sidelines.
