Braelon Allen shares brutal answer on why he was picked in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft

New York Jets rookie Braelon Allen had something to say about his fourth-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft after his stellar performance on Thursday night.

Allen was on social media Friday morning when he saw someone ask the question he’s likely been asking himself for months: “How… did Braelon Allen get to the fourth round?”

His response was pure gold. He mocked the NFL Scouting Combine and made it clear where he stands:

Allen did not participate in the combine. He was recovering from “lower-body issues” he suffered during his senior season at Wisconsin. The drills he participated in did not showcase what he does best, running through people as a power back.

“I’m a physical, downhill runner,” he said, describing his running style. “I try to punish defenders, create contact instead of taking it and absorbing it. I’m more than willing to pass and I can also run routes and catch the ball pretty well. I think I’m a well-rounded back who’s bigger than most, so it’s a little different than what a lot of people get.”

So far this season, Allen has done just that. He’s averaging 5.1 yards per carry, has collected 141 yards and a touchdown on 25 touches, and is also running through NFL defenders with astonishing speed.

The Jets have found a hidden gem. That much is clear.
