Tyreek Hill arrested by police for minor traffic violation ahead of Dolphins opener; WR plans to play Jaguars

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was pulled over by police for a minor traffic violation prior to Sunday’s season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Hill was released by police, is at the stadium and will play against Jacksonville, Rosenhaus told NFL Network.

Hill was taken to the ground by police outside Hard Rock Stadium and handcuffed for five minutes before being released, Rapoport reported on NFL GameDay Morning.

“This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident approximately one block from the stadium and was briefly detained by police. He has since been released,” the Dolphins said in a statement. “Several teammates witnessed the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved arrived safely at the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”
