On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Denver Broncos. The final score of 13-6 indicated a close game, but the Steelers were in control for most of the game. Two late field goals by Denver kept things exciting.

These are the five most important lessons we learned from the match.

I’m not going after Justin Fields here at all. Personally, I think he’s done enough to hold down the starting position. But for a player as athletic as he is, he doesn’t seem comfortable on designed runs.

The running game was impressive

The duo of Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris did exactly what you’d expect them to do. The two, as co-starters of sorts, combined for 26 carries for 111 yards.

What happened to the secondary?

After allowing just 39 passing yards in the first half, the Steelers’ pass defense fell asleep in the second half. Fortunately, the misstep didn’t have any serious consequences for the outcome of the game, but it’s still concerning.

Unrest in the attack line

We are genuinely concerned that the Steelers do not address these issues at offensive tackle quickly enough so that the team does not miss out on a win.

You are only as good as your record

The Steelers team is a perfect example of a team that does just enough to win and nothing to lose. Is it the most talented team in the AFC North? Probably not, but you’re only as good as your regular season record.
