Happy, Newsweek got the inside scoop from the game’s creator, Josh Wardle, on how to solve the game.

Erhan Aslan, who teaches linguistics at the University of Reading in Britain, said Newsweek “One thing I think is important in this game is the starting word chosen,” Aslan said. “It can be helpful to start with words that contain common vowels, for example e and a, consonants such as r and t, and sound sequences.

“For example, choosing a word that starts with q, z, j, or they might think.”
