The New York Jets are on the road and across the sea in London, England to take on the Minnesota Vikings today. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. EDT.

The Jets were in position to score a come from behind victory over the Denver Broncos last week before Greg Zuerlein missed a 50-yard field in the waning seconds of the game. It was a disappointing setback after the Jets had looked so good in destroying the New England Patriots the week before. Now the Jets are trying to avoid sliding into a losing record against an undefeated Minnesota Vikings team.

The Jets will need the defense to step up and harass and confuse old friend Sam Darnold. Darnold is off to an incredible start in Minnesota, leading the NFL in touchdown passes and passer rating. If the Jets can’t find a way to slow down Darnold, it will be difficult to come away from London with a win.

On offense, the Jets will face a lightning-fast Viking defense that will put tremendous pressure on the quarterback. Last week, facing another blitz-happy defense in the Denver Broncos, the Jets’ offensive line folded like a cheap suit. The Jets will need to protect Aaron Rodgers better this week or their chances of winning will be minimal.

This is a crucial game for the Jets. If you win, they’ll play the Buffalo Bills at home next week for first place in the AFC East. Lose and they’ll sink below .500 and face a Bills game that could put them in a 2-4 hole. Let’s hope the Jets find a way to upset the red-hot Vikings in London today.
