The Russell County Lady Laker Golf team was on the road yesterday, participating in the Cardinal Shootout at Woodson Bend.

The Lady Lakers finished 2nd overall in the 7-team field, shooting a team score of 394.

Catherine Wright led the Lady Lakers with a 93 on the day, finishing 4th overall individually.

Carleen Meyers wasn’t far behind, finishing with a 95 and Carly Shearer shot a 96, good for 5th and 6th individually.

Addison Hopper shot a 110 and Karly Stapp shot a 123 to round out scoring for the Lady Lakers.

Russell County will be back in action today, playing in the 2A state qualifier in Taylor County.

The Lakers were on the road for the Scottie Invitational at Willow Oaks Golf Club in Glasgow yesterday.

The Lakers shot a team score of 319 on the day, with Noah McMillin leading Russell County with a 74 on the day. McMillin tied for third overall individually.

Daylon Blevins shot a 79, Kole Rixon shot an 82, Gabe Browning shot an 84, and Ayden Goch rounded out Russell County with an 87.
