FS1 was criticized for several graphical errors during Troy-Iowa

FS1 experienced multiple graphical glitches during Saturday’s broadcast of Iowa vs. Troy.

Iowa shook off a rocky start to win 38-21, but errors throughout the afternoon during the FS1 broadcast were certainly distracting. A full-screen graphic referencing former Troy head coach Jon Sumrall — now at Tulane — used the wrong photo:

Another blunder occurred when FS1 showed an Iowa graphic with the words “Iowa State” underneath (fast forward to the end):

Yes, broadcasting can be tricky and mistakes do happen. But since the game is being shown to a national audience, the question of how mistakes like the one above could get televised deserves some answers, especially one that involves Iowa’s primary rival and not Iowa itself.

Hopefully FS1 (and by extension FOX Sports) can do better in the rest of the process and prevent these types of mistakes from happening again.
