Demi Moore Shares Update On Ex-Husband Bruce Willis’ Condition As Actor Battles Dementia

Demi Moore gave an update on the condition of ex-husband Bruce Willis, who is battling frontotemporal dementia.

On Friday, the 61-year-old actress appeared on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” and the 49-year-old TV host reminisced about their collaboration in the 2003 film “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.” Willis made a small cameo at the beginning of the film.

“When we were doing Charlie’s Angels , Bruce came and played on it, and he opened the movie. And we got to work with him,” Barrymore recalled.

“I mean, I knew him when he was a bartender at Cafe Central!” she added. “I’ve known him my whole life, too. How is he now?”

“Given the circumstances, he is in a stable position,” Moore replied.

The “Ghost” star and Willis, 69, who were married from 1987 to 2000, have daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Talullah, 30. The former couple have remained close since their divorce. Moore attended Willis’ wedding in 2009 when he married his second wife, Emma Heming Willis, with whom he has daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.

In 2019, Moore was also present when Willis and Emma renewed their vows on their tenth wedding anniversary.

Moore also has a close bond with Emma, and the blended family often celebrates holidays and birthdays together. In 2020, they quarantined together as a family in Idaho during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During her conversation with Barrymore, Moore shared the advice she gives her daughters as they deal with their father’s health issues.

“What I tell my kids is you meet them where they are. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment,” Moore explained. “And out of that is so much beauty and joy and love and sweetness.”

Moore explained that she tries to spend as much time with Willis and his family as possible.

“When I’m in LA, I go there every week and I really appreciate the time we spend together,” she said.

In March 2022, the “Die Hard” star retired from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia. In February 2023, the Willis family announced that his condition had worsened to frontotemporal dementia.

In May, Rumer provided an update on Willis’ health in an interview with Fox News Digital.

“He’s great. Yeah, yeah, he’s good. Thank you so much for asking,” Rumer said at the premiere of her new film, “My Divorce Party,” at the 24th Annual Beverly Hills Film Festival.

“I think for me, through this experience, it’s been so incredible that my father is so loved, and that’s been so evident in the transparency with which we’ve shared with each other,” she continued.

“And I think if sharing our experiences can in any way bring hope – whatever comes up as a family – that can have an impact and bring hope and comfort to someone else who is experiencing that, then that to me is… everything.”
