Demi Moore spoke candidly about her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ health, giving an update that he is “in stable condition.”

The star of the upcoming body horror film The substance appeared in a September 13 episode of The Drew Barrymore Showand the two discussed their previous work on 2003’s Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttlein which Willis has a cameo role.

Moore, who was married to the Die Hard actor from 1987 to 2000, said: “Given the circumstances, he is in a stable position.”

She continued, “What I tell my kids is you meet them where they are. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, you hold on to who they are in this moment.” Moore and Willis have children Rumer Willis, Scout Willis and Tallulah Willis.

“And there’s so much beauty and joy and love and sweetness in that,” Moore explained. “When I’m in L.A., I go there every week and I really cherish the time that we all share.”

In 2022, it was announced that the now 69-year-old actor would be stepping back from his acting career after being diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects the way one communicates. A year later, the family released a statement saying the condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, the most common form of dementia for which there is no treatment.

“Unfortunately, communication issues are just one symptom of the illness Bruce is battling,” the statement said. “While painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”

In an update from earlier this year, Willis’ wife Emma Heming criticized Willis’ misleading headlines and clickbait regarding his medical condition. “I need society and everyone who writes these stupid headlines to stop scaring people. Stop scaring people into thinking that once they get a diagnosis of some neurocognitive disorder, ‘That’s it. It’s over. Let’s pack it up. There’s nothing left to see here, we’re done.’ No. It’s the exact opposite, okay?”

Last year Tallulah also appeared on The Drew Barrymore Showand said of her father, “He’s the same, and I think in that regard I’ve learned that this is the best you can ask for. I see love when I’m with him. And he’s my dad and he loves me, which is really special.”
