ASU Football vs. Texas State Live Score Updates for Week 3 College Game

The Arizona State American football team continues its 2024 schedule with a game against Texas State on Thursday, September 12.

Arizona State is coming off a 30-23 win over Mississippi State in their Week 2 matchup. Texas State defeated UTSA 49-10.

Both teams are 2-0 this season.

This marks the first meeting between the two college football programs.

Texas State’s defense certainly settled down after ASU allowed its first touchdown drive.

The Sun Devils just got their second straight possession, 3-and-out, and Texas State has the ball at midfield.

ASU now has 63 total yards in the game. It had 68 yards on its touchdown drive on its first possession.

Arizona State’s defense desperately needs a stop to this after the Bobcats allowed two consecutive touchdown drives.

ASU’s defense has been weakened.

Texas State has had touchdown scoring drives of 7:27 and ?? on its last two drives, giving them a 14-7 lead over the Sun Devils.

ASU had a 3-and-out between Texas State’s scoring drives.

Texas State’s most recent drive went for 15 plays and 64 yards.

Jordan McCloud connected on a 6-yard pass to Jaden Williams for the score.

How’s this for dominating time of possession? Texas State has the ball for 15:51.

ASU has 5:38 hours to do so.

This is the first time this season that ASU has trailed.

The Sun Devils could use a long drive to give their defense a chance to catch their breath against the Bobcats and their fast-paced offense.

Jordan McCloud has now completed 14 of 18 passes for 97 yards, with two touchdown passes in the game.

ASU’s second possession against Texas State wasn’t as impressive as the first.

The Sun Devils went 3-and-out on the drive, with Sam Leavitt going 1-for-3 passing and completing only a 2-yard pass to Raleek Brown, a USC transfer who is seeing his first action of the season for the Sun Devils after being injured for the first two games.

Leavitt has now completed 3 of 5 attempts for 37 yards in the game.

ASU’s quick drive is putting a lot of pressure on the Sun Devils defense, who just gave up a 7:27 touchdown drive to the Bobcats and now must once again try to stop Texas State’s rushing attack.

Texas State’s second offense against ASU was much more impressive than the first.

And it ended with a touchdown, tying the game.

The Bobcats covered 75 yards in 15 plays after being limited to 16 yards on their first possession.

Texas State got its running game going on the drive, picking up yards with several key runs.

Jordan McCloud connected with Chris Dawn Jr. on a 5-yard pass for the touchdown. He is now 8-of-11 for 53 yards in the game.

The Sun Devils’ first away game of the season was a good one.

ASU covered 68 yards in 10 plays and 4:46 and took a 7-0 lead thanks to a 1-yard rush from Cam Skattebo.

ASU rushed 33 yards on the drive.

Sam Leavitt and ASU’s passing game, which has struggled at times this season, looked good. The QB completed passes for 18 and 14 yards on the drive.

Not a bad way to start against Texas State.

ASU’s defense started the game well, forcing Texas State to a punt after gaining 16 yards on six plays.

Texas State likes to run a fast-paced offense and it did so on the first drive, with QB Jordan McCloud, who interestingly enough previously played at Arizona, completing 2 of 5 passes for 13 yards on the Bobcats’ first drive.

Texas State ran the ball just once, for three yards.

ASU football started the week with a 2.5-point lead over Texas State, but before kickoff the line shifted: the Bobcats were 2.5-point favorites over the Sun Devils.

Texas State was -145 on the moneyline at kickoff. ASU was +100.

The over/under was set at 57.5 points.

The Sun Devils’ depth chart at running back continues to deepen. Raleek Brown, a transfer from USC, is expected to make his debut with Arizona State against Texas State after missing the first two games of the season with an injury.

Brown was spotted warming up with the team before the game.
