While Black was speaking to Jono Pryor, Ben Boyce and Megan Papas on The Hits Breakfast and went viral by shouting “Up the Wahs” – a popular chant for the Warriors rugby league team.

The duo seemed to be having a lot of fun during their time in New Zealand, but it looks like they also had a lot of fun filming the live-action comedy film.

The book will be released in April of next year and tells the story of the evil Ender Dragon, who is on a path of destruction, prompting a young girl and her band of unlikely adventurers to set out to save the Overworld.

Now, a decade after plans for the film adaptation were announced, Warner Bros. has released the trailer. Amidst the colorful cube wonderland, there may be a few Alps that resemble those of New Zealand.

It’s hard to tell if the mountain ranges are real or CGI. The film starts in the real world before the characters are pulled into the overworld. We’ll probably see some Kiwi footage at some point in the full film.

Besides the fact that the film was shot in the country, A Minecraft Movie which several New Zealanders worked on, including Grant Major.

Major, an art director who previously worked on the Lord of the Rings films and even won an Oscar for his contributions, served as production designer for the film.

Elsewhere, Term reported that Flight of the Conchords star Jemaine Clement was cast in an unknown role.

Netflix star Emma Myers also stars in the film, as does Danielle Brooks from The color purple, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen of Lisey’s story.

A Minecraft movie is expected to be released in April 2025
