“Yellowstone” is almost back. The Paramount Network series has unveiled a first teaser for the highly anticipated second half of Season 5.

The beloved Paramount Network series, created by Taylor Sheridan — which aired in reruns on CBS — first launched in 2018. Since then, it’s become a cable phenomenon.

The first half of season 5, consisting of eight episodes, aired from November 2022 to January 2023; the second half, consisting of six episodes, is scheduled to air on November 10, 2024.

Paramount Network released a short teaser for Season 5’s second half on Friday. “Legacy. You build something that’s worth it. Someone’s going to try to steal it,” Kevin Costner’s John Dutton says at the beginning of the video.

“What I do is not for the ranch. It’s for us,” says Cole Hauser’s Rip, as Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton pulls out a knife somewhere. There are also quick shots of FBI agents raiding a building, hordes of horsemen, and tense conversations.

Season 5 Part 2 also received some first-look footage on Thursday. Newcomers can enjoy a “Yellowstone” marathon this weekend on Paramount Network, starting Friday, 8/30 at 7pm PT/10pm ET through Monday, 2/9.

Last December, it was reported that lead actor Costner would be leaving Yellowstone to focus on directing his two-part western film Horizon. In June, he confirmed his departure ahead of the box office disappointment of Horizon: Part One.

In September, Costner threatened to sue the producers of “Yellowstone” during a child support hearing, part of his divorce proceedings from Christine Baumgartner. The actor claimed that he was still owed $12 million for the second half of Season 5 due to a “pay or play” clause, and noted that the “long, difficult negotiations” led to his departure. Neither the studio nor the network has commented on Costner’s departure from the series.

Moving forward after “Yellowstone,” Paramount has greenlit a modern-day spinoff of the series, titled “The Madison,” starring Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Elle Chapman and Beau Garrett. There’s also a chance a surprise Season 6, which would focus on Reilly and Hauser’s characters, could be officially greenlit.

“’Yellowstone’ is the cornerstone on which we launched an entire universe of global hits — from ‘1883’ to ‘Tulsa King,’ and I’m confident our ‘Yellowstone’ sequel will be another smash hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life,” said Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, in a statement announcing “2024.”
