    “Wheel of Fortune” fans took to social media Monday to discuss Ryan Seacrest’s debut as host, replacing the beloved Pat Sajak. Many fans reported low expectations but positive opinions.

    All eyes were on Ryan Seacrest when he hosted his first episode of “Wheel of Fortune” Monday night.

    It was the first time in more than 40 years that the show was hosted by someone other than Pat Sajak, who announced his retirement in June 2023. “Wheel” fans were instead greeted by Seacrest, who was brought in to usher in a new “Wheel of Fortune” era.

    The 49-year-old entertainment veteran “couldn’t wait to continue” the tradition of spinning the wheel and working with the great Vanna White, USA TODAY reported. But he acknowledged then and recently that he has “big shoes” to fill in the wake of Sajak’s departure.

    According to USA TODAY, he took the stage arm-in-arm with co-host Vanna White and took his new place behind the wheel after a brief chat.

    “I still can’t believe how lucky I am to be here with you tonight, to continue the legacy of this incredible show,” Seacrest told the crowd. “I know how special it is that ‘Wheel’ has been in your living rooms for the past 40 years, and I’m so grateful to have been invited. I also know that I have some very big shoes to fill.”

    Fortunately, Seacrest’s debut as host of “Wheel of Fortune” went off without a hitch. He was able to focus on the contestants, who were busy spinning the wheel and solving word puzzles, USA TODAY reported.

    Fans of “Wheel” were pleasantly surprised by Seacrest’s performance and shared their thoughts and opinions on social media following the show’s premiere.
