Weather delay announced after lightning

play

No. 8 Penn State is just two quarters away from a convincing road win to open the college football season.

But before the Nittany Lions can accomplish that, it appears they’ll first have to defeat Mother Nature.

The Nittany Lions’ season opener against West Virginia will be given an extended rest after dark skies and lightning were detected in the Morgantown, West Virginia area, forcing a lightning delay on the old rivalry game. Per the NCAA’s lightning delay policy, competition will be suspended for 30 minutes for each lightning strike within a five-mile radius.
