Voter slams Harris for ‘racial hatred’ and ‘fear mongering’ during debate

A voter who participated in the Fox News Digital panel responding to the debate criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for the rhetoric she used against former President Donald Trump.

“Racial hatred and fear mongering played a major role in her tactics tonight,” one voter on the panel said of Harris’s performance during the debate.

The comments come after Trump and Harris squared off in what could be the only debate between the two candidates before Election Day in November, kicking off the final stretch of a campaign that is sure to end in a tense fashion.

But one voter was unimpressed with Harris’ rhetoric.

When asked to point to a specific incident in the debate where Harris “incited” Trump on race, the voter pointed to her comments about the “Central Park Five.”

“I think this is a hot potato, especially for many African Americans, but she leaves out a lot of details,” the voter said, as if the chief prosecutor at the time were a Democrat.

TRUMP SAYS HE ‘PROBABLY GOT A BULLET IN THE HEAD’ FROM DEMOCRATIVE RHETORIC

The voter referenced a segment in the debate in which Harris accused Trump of having a long history of racially divisive behavior, noting that his family’s business was once investigated for refusing to rent to black people decades ago. He also noted that he had called for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, who were wrongly accused of raping a Manhattan jogger in 1989.

“I think he was gaslighted throughout the debate, and that’s probably why he was so defensive,” the voter said. “Even when he brought up the issue of race, he brought it up because she’s cajoling, she’s using blackness as a trope to get black votes.”

The voter concluded her argument by arguing that Harris had never elaborated on a plan for black voters, something she would have liked to hear the vice president discuss.

“I would have liked to see her focus on the fact that ‘yes, I’m a black woman, and this is my plan for black America,'” the voter continued. “But she clearly doesn’t have a plan, because she’s not black at the core.”
