Verizon is experiencing a massive outage that is impacting its mobile services across the country.

“During the incident, we received reports from Benton, Brookland, Washington, Dover, Brandon, Cape Coral, Clermont, Naples, Ocala, Oviedo, Palm Bay, Rockledge, St. Petersburg, Atlanta, Dalton, Decatur, Bloomington, Carmel, Cloverdale, Fishers and 223 other cities,” according to a website tracking the outage.

There are also over 100,000 user reports of issues on Downdetector. Downdetector’s outage map shows hotspots in many places, including New York and Atlanta. Based on that map, it appears that the outages are more common on the East Coast.

Verizon is responding to multiple people raising complaints about its support account on Many users report on that account that their phones are in SOS mode.

“We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers,” Verizon spokesperson Ilya Hemlin said in a statement to The edge. “Our technicians are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and resolve the issue.”
