Tua Tagovailoa: Miami Dolphins quarterback suffers concussion in loss to Bills

CNN

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion during his team’s 31-10 loss to the visiting Buffalo Bills on Thursday night, the Dolphins said. It’s another head injury for a player who has previously expressed concerns about his past with the club.

Tagovailoa left the game in the third quarter after taking a blow to the head from Bills safety Damar Hamlin while trying to get a first down. The 26-year-old remained on the floor at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and was treated by Dolphins trainers.

Tagovailoa eventually walked off the field under his own power and was replaced by backup quarterback Skylar Thompson. Tagovailoa was “out with a concussion,” the Dolphins said on social media.

Tagovailoa has a history of concussions, suffering several during the 2022 season. In April 2023, he said he was considering taking a “temporary” break from football following the concussion issues.

Tagovailoa struggled before leaving the field on Thursday, throwing three interceptions.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
