Travis Kelce is starting to show signs of his unusually slow start to the season.

Kelce, 34, was spotted by NBC’s Sunday evening football Cameras watched in despair as the clock ticked down in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 22-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, September 22.

Despite the Chiefs winning their third straight game, it was another lackluster night for Kelce, who finished with four catches for 30 yards. Kelce has yet to score a touchdown in the first three games of the season.

Another account posted: “Travis Kelce looks absolutely READY.”

During the NBC broadcast, analyst Cris Collinsworth expressed surprise at how little chemistry Kelce appeared to have with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“I’m just stunned,” Collinsworth said in the second quarter. “I mean, one game, what a performance. Two games, okay. This is now the third game where we haven’t seen the magic of Mahomes and Kelce. And I can’t really explain it.”

After the game, the first of the season that Kelce’s girlfriend was not present, Taylor SwiftMahomes, 29, played down the debate, stressing that the Chiefs’ opponents haven’t made it easy for the team’s star player.

“The respect they have for Travis is just unreal,” he told the media. “It’s well-deserved. But I mean, we call a lot of plays for Travis and it’s like two or three people go to him.”

Mahomes continued: “He gets it. I think that’s the great thing about him. He wants to make an impact on the game, but at the end of the day, he wants to win. I’m going to try to do my best to get him the ball when he’s there, when he’s open.”

After the Chiefs’ Week 2 win over the Cincinnati Bengals — in which Kelce made just one catch, the first time since September 2018 that he didn’t have three or more in a game — Kelce said he’s no longer concerned about his final stat line.

“I stopped worrying about the stats four or five years ago,” he told brother Jason Kelce on their “New Heights” podcast on Sept. 18. “I just went out there and started playing freely and playing for my guys. I think that’s a better mentality, really. You think about it more, play-by-play, and what your job is on that particular play.”

Kelce continued: “For whatever reason, the last two games, it hasn’t gone my way. That’s football, man. I’m not going to sit here and get frustrated. I used to get really, really angry and almost lose my cool a lot of times because I didn’t have that success, knowing that I demanded that of myself. I just like to play the game with such a high level of responsibility that it’s hard for me to deal with the fact that I’m mediocre or have stats that represent that.”
