The Gretna Fire Department responds to a fire near Vala’s Pumpkin Patch

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Firefighters battled a cornfield fire near Vala’s Pumpkin Patch & Apple Orchard on Sunday.

According to Gretna Fire Chief Rod Buethe, the fire started near Schram Road and 192 Street around 2 p.m.

Buethe said the fire was on Vala’s property.

Six departments were called: Gretna, Omaha, Louisville, Springfield, Papillion and Bellevue.

The fire brigade had the fire under control around 3:30 p.m

According to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, filming was delayed for 30 minutes while the fire was ongoing. Operations remained unaffected.

No injuries or damage were reported, other than plants destroyed.
