Streaming options available for Ducks fans amid local Big Ten Network blackout

Oregon Ducks fans will have to find creative ways to watch today’s season opener against the Idaho Vandals.

The Big Ten Network feed is not available to viewers in Oregon.

Fox Sports and the Big Ten Network have an existing agreement that does not cover the four new schools that joined the Big Ten this season.

A new deal would have to be reached, with Comcast paying Fox Sports and the Big Ten Network to broadcast the games, which is why the games on the West Coast will not be broadcast.

Comcast sent us a statement Saturday morning:

“We recognize the impact these charges have on our customers and have been in discussions with FOX and the Big Ten Network to find a solution to make certain former Pac-12 games available to the people who want them, without forcing others to pay for content they do not want to see. We hope to reach a fair agreement with FOX and the Big Ten Network to bring these games to our customers.”

There are a few options available if you want to watch today’s game. YouTubeTV, fuboTV, Sling TV, Hulu, and DirecTV Now are streaming services that offer the network.

Access to these services requires a subscription, but some services also offer free viewing.
