Still quite warm, chance of evening storms in southeastern Nebraska

After a fast-moving shower dropped a little less than a tenth of an inch for some around Lincoln (0.07″ here on Channel 8), we dried off to another warm morning. The views of the clouds and the sun shining through were incredible around sunrise.

Temperatures will be in the low 21s before rising to the low 33s, an improvement from previous days, but it will still feel quite warm.

Due to the humidity, the heat index will rise to around 32 degrees Celsius during the afternoon.

Hi Hbh

Later, some storms will attempt to bubble over southeastern Nebraska as early as 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night. There is still quite a bit of spread in the models, as some storms miss Lincoln completely to the south and east, and rain doesn’t start until around midnight.

That being said, there is a good chance that there will be some activity tonight, especially south of I-80.

Se Ne Stormen Tonight

There is a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) of an isolated storm intensifying to near severe. This means that tonight, a select group of people could experience wind gusts of up to 60 mph and hail the size of a quarter.

Dma Precipitation Each Model

There is a chance of just under 1.25 centimeters of rain, as the potential maximum amount will not fall until Wednesday morning.
