September 10th looks like it’s going to be a big day for the iPhone

After a summer full of new phones from Samsung and Google, it’s almost time for Apple fans to step into the spotlight. According to a new report, Apple’s next iPhone event will be held on September 10.

Rumors of a September 10 date aren’t new, though the latest report comes from a fairly reliable source: Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. According to “people familiar with the matter,” September 10 is the day we’ll see the iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and more.

Apple typically holds its annual iPhone event in early September, usually on a Tuesday. Considering that the most likely dates for the event this year have always been either September 3rd or September 10th, it’s nice to have confirmation from one of Apple’s most prolific leakers that September 10th is the day to look forward to. Gurman claims that sales of the new gadgets will begin on September 20th.

As mentioned above, the two stars of the show are expected to be the iPhone 16 and the Apple Watch Series 10. There are a lot of leaks about the new iPhone. Rumors suggest that all four models (iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max) will feature a new Capture Button, larger displays, improved camera sensors, and fairly similar designs to the existing iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro families.

We’ve heard far less about the Apple Watch Series 10. Bigger displays and thinner casings are expected. Unfortunately, we’re not expecting any major new health features. We’re also supposed to get an Apple Watch Ultra 3, though even less has leaked about it. Gurman also suggests that Apple will announce a new version of the basic AirPods.

If you were hoping for new Macs or iPads, it doesn’t look like they’ll be showing up at the September 10 event. That’s OK, though. Four new iPhones, two new Apple Watches, and a new pair of earbuds are a lot ofPlus, Apple is hosting another Mac and iPad update event in October, so there’s always something to expect there.
