See the real-life loves of the cast of ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’

Thirty-six years after he made magic, Tim Burton brings Beetlejuice back to the big screen, with some familiar faces and some new ones tormented by the mischievous ghoul.

While Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and Danny DeVito will all reprise their roles from the 1988 original, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice gets extra star power with the addition of Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci and Justin Theroux to the cast.

The sequel follows the Deetz family as they attempt to navigate family dynamics and deal with loss, all while dealing with the supernatural.

Ahead of the film’s September 6 release, check out who some of the actors in the cast are Beetlejuice Beetlejuice who she nestles with when things get creepy – from O’Hara’s longtime love to Theroux’s newly engaged.

Michael Keaton keeps his relationship with his longtime partner Marni Turner very low-key. It’s unclear when the two became an item, but they have appeared together a handful of times.

Aside from a quick kiss he gave her when he won the 2022 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Short-form Series or Anthology Film, the couple hasn’t been in the spotlight much.

Catherine O’Hara and her husband Bo Welch met on the set of the original film; she played Delia Deetz and he was the production designer on the 1988 classic.

The couple married on April 25, 1992. In 1994, they welcomed their first son, Matthew, and in 1997, their second, Luke.

Winona Ryder, who plays Lydia Deetz, has been in a relationship with designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011, but the two are a modest couple.

Hahn, in fact, is so far removed from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood that he mistook her for another actress when they first met. “He thought I was Milla Jovovich,” she said. Harper’s Bazaar in 2022. “He told me I was great at The fifth element.”

After months of rumors about their relationship, Monica Bellucci confirmed last June that she and Tim Burton were an item. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be their first joint project: Burton directed the film and Bellucci plays a character named Delores.

“What I can say… I’m glad I met the man, first of all,” Bellucci said Elle France before they started filming. “It’s one of those encounters that rarely happen in life… I know the man, I love him, and now I’m going to meet the director, another adventure begins.”

Willem Dafoe met his wife and Giada Colagrande while on vacation in Italy and the rest is history. They married in 2005 in what Dafoe calls a “very impulsive and romantic ceremony.”

“We were having lunch and I said, ‘Do you want to get married tomorrow?’” he said The guard“I called the city hall and they said, ‘If you get here in a few hours, you can register and then you can get married tomorrow.’”

Justin Theroux made his red carpet debut as a fiancé at the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice premiere in Venice!

PEOPLE confirmed that the actor, who plays Rory in the new film, popped the question to his actress lover last summer. The two celebrated in Italy in preparation for the Venice Film Festival.

Despite their very glamorous engagement debut, Theroux has openly stated that he wants to keep his love life private, telling Squireit’s “a lot more fun not having a public relationship.”

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman married in 1982 and are partners in life and on set, collaborating on projects such as Taxi, Swap Meet, Matilda, 10 items or less and more.

During their marriage, they had three children: Lucy, born in 1983, Grace, who joined the family in 1985, and Jake, born in 1987.

In late 2012, DeVito and Perlman announced their split. They have since gotten back together and broken up several times, but Perlman made it clear that they are still devoted family members.

“We’re still married,” the actress said during an episode of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Wiser than me podcast in June 2023. “And we’re still really good friends and we see each other a lot. And our family is still the most important thing to both of us.”

Alec Baldwin may not be reprising his role in the sequel (and neither will his on-screen wife, Geena Davis), but his performance as Adam Maitland in Beetle juice was certainly memorable (just ask Jenna Ortega, who paid tribute to the character in Venice this week).

The famous actor has been married to Hilaria since June 2012 and the couple has seven children (or as they call them, Baldwinitos): Carmen Gabriella, 10, Rafael Thomas, 8, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, Romeo Alejandro David, 6, Eduardo ‘Edu’ Pao Lucas, 3, María Lucía Victoria, 3, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 1. Alec is also the father of Ireland Baldwin, with whom he has a child, together with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.

In honor of their 11th wedding anniversary in 2023, Hilaria penned a sweet note to her husband, which she shared with PEOPLE, writing, “11 years. I cherish you guys and the fact that we met. We’ve been through so much and I couldn’t imagine anyone better to have by my side. I love you guys. I love our family…and so much more. I feel so lucky to have you guys.”
