Remnants of Hurricane Francine bring clouds, rain and wind

(KFVS) – Clouds and rain from the remnants of Hurricane Francine will move from south to north across the area this afternoon and evening.

Rain is expected to continue for a few more days. Models differ on the timing and movement of the low, but the general forecast remains with periods of rain and some wind from later today into the weekend.

Today’s highs will range from the low 80s in the north to the mid 70s in the south.

Winds will increase this afternoon and official wind warnings are in effect for today and tonight in the southern provinces.

Friday looks set to be the most humid day with scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm. It will also be windy and cloudy.

The system will weaken over the weekend and the chance of rain will gradually decrease. There will be more sun, but on Saturday and possibly Sunday there will still be some scattered showers and even a thunderstorm possible.

Total rainfall is expected to range from 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5 centimeters), but locally heavier precipitation is possible, especially in the southern provinces.
