Winner: The Raven Super Bowl Hype

Jackson has never performed particularly well against this Bills defense, which in previous games focused on neutralizing him as a runner. But with Henry, who has been a boogeyman for the Bills his entire career and lined up next to Jackson in the Ravens’ backfield, that was difficult to do. This had been Baltimore’s goal in signing the 30-year-old defenseman: to reduce the playing burden on Jackson in this offense. With Henry now leading the NFL in rushing after his dominant performance on Sunday night, it’s safe to say he provided that relief. But Lamar is still doing his part. The Ravens quarterback ranks ninth in the NFL in rushing, with 308 yards. Not only is this the best two-headed rushing attack in today’s league, it might be the best we’ve ever seen. Jackson and Henry are on pace to finish this season with a combined 3,349 rushing yards.

At their best, the Ravens might be the best in the NFL

Here, finally, was the team that defeated the San Francisco 49ers on Christmas Eve, only to embarrass the super-fast Miami Dolphins a week later. The details were of course not identical. That blur of muscle and movement with No. 22 wasn’t in the team photo last season. But Sunday night in Baltimore, facing the best team in the AFC yet, the Ravens reaffirmed that at their best, they are as dominant as anyone.

…However, they reintroduced us to the very real possibility that they could win the Super Bowl. The Ravens were that good.

NFL Week 4: Biggest questions, takeaways from every game

Alaina Getzenberg, ESPN

“After scoring more than thirty points in the first three games, this was a relative no-show. The Bills streak of 41 consecutive regular season games in which more than 10 points were scored came to an end, the longest active streak in the NFL. The offense went 2-11 on third down with Allen completing 16 of 29 passes (55.2%), down from his average of 75% at the start of the season. The offensive line had a rough night, with Allen forcing 44.1% of throws and being sacked three times on a season-high two sacks.”

PLAYER OF THE GAME

Tonight belonged to Derrick Henry, from his team’s very first play.

The Ravens running back dominated on the ground with 198 rushing yards on 24 carries, highlighted by an 87-yard touchdown run on the Ravens’ opening play. He added a rare receiving touchdown — his first since 2019 — in the second quarter.

Henry moved the chains six times. He forced four missed tackles and gained 10 or more yards on three separate carries. Of his total distance, 131 came before contact, and 67 came after. He was backed by stellar blocking, averaging a whopping 5.5 yards before contact per carry.
