Women

A complicated start to the tournament for two-time reigning champions Turkey! The teammates of Sevda Altunoluk, Paralympic champion in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, drew 3-3 with the Brazilians in their first match.

In the other group, the French women’s team was no match for the Canadians, who were defeated 10-0. The all-Asian duel in the second game in Group D went to the Japanese, who defeated the Koreans 3-1.

Gentlemen

It was another difficult start for the French men’s team. Against the reigning champions Brazil, the Tricolores held out for a long time and were 5-4 down at half-time. The end result was an 8-5 defeat, but with high expectations for the future, as the United States and Iran start their tournament next Friday.

In Group B, China defeated Japan 7-6, while Ukraine defeated Egypt 6-3.
