In a few hours, Real Madrid will play their first match after the international break: they will face Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena.

Ahead of the match, manager Carlo Ancelotti has announced the starting line-up that will face Imanol Alguacil’s men.

Before the match, there was much discussion about who, Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler, would start in midfield for Real Madrid due to injury concerns.

Ancelotti has opted to start with both players, possibly adjusting the formation to a 4-1-2-1-2, similar to Real Madrid’s line-up last season.

In that case, Brahim could occupy the attacking midfield position with Guler as one of two inside midfielders alongside Federico Valverde. Captain Luka Modric would occupy the pivot position.

Alternatively, it could be a 4-3-3 with Brahim on the right flank. Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. complete the rest of Real Madrid’s attack, with Rodrygo Goes on the bench.

Eder Militao and Ferland Mendy start in defence after recovering from their respective injuries. Dani Carvajal and Antonio Rudiger complete Real Madrid’s defence with Thibaut Courtois in goal.
