Makari Vickers and Dasan McCullough are out for Oklahoma’s Week 1 game against Temple

The Oklahoma Sooners are pumped to kick off their 2024 college football season and kickoff is less than 30 minutes away (7:00 p.m. EST). They will take on the Temple Owls in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPN. Shortly before kickoff, Georgia Stoia III by Coming SoonScoop gave some notable news for Sooner fans regarding player availability.

OU defensive back Makari Vickers is in street clothes and will not play Friday night. OU linebacker Dasan McCullough was seen on the sideline in a boot and street clothes. It’s no surprise he won’t play Friday night, having missed all of fall camp for the Crimson and Cream.

Peyton Bowen was seen running with the first-team defense during warmups. The former five-star prospect is scheduled to return punts this season and fans couldn’t be more excited. He collected 21 tackles and five pass deflections as a freshman last year. It will be fun to see him making plays all over the field. Bowen made some notable plays in fall camp, including a spectacular one-handed interception.

Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold came out of the blocks firing on all cylinders, as many expected. He scored two touchdowns early on. One of his passes was a 47-yard beauty to Jalill Farooq.
