The Tennessee Titans need a strong second half to avoid an 0-3 start after falling behind in Sunday’s Week 3 NFL game against the Green Bay Packers at Nissan Stadium.

Malik Willis excelled in the first half, setting single-game career highs in passing and rushing yards. He scored on a 5-yard touchdown run on the Packers’ opening drive.

Willis was traded from Tennessee to Green Bay on August 26 for a 2025 seventh-round pick after spending his first two seasons and this preseason with the Titans.

Will Levis threw a touchdown pass to Nick Vannett on the Titans’ first drive, but otherwise struggled, throwing a pick-six to Jaire Alexander in the first quarter.

Tennessee Titans vs. Green Bay Packers score

Will Levis is sacked and loses the ball, after which Lukas Van Ness takes the ball back.

Nicholas Petit-Frere was stripped to the bone by Kingsley Enagbare, allowing Enagbare to get a free hit on Levis that resulted in the strip-sack. Very, very bad.

Green Bay has the ball in midfield late in the third quarter.

Good drive for the Titans defense, who get the 3-and-out after the Packers elect to give the ball to Josh Jacobs three times in a row. Very conservative by Matt LaFleur. The Titans will take it.

For the first time since the first drive, the Titans offense wakes up. The drive is started by a Tyjae Spears 29-yard catch and run, and capped off by a DeAndre Hopkins 11-yard touchdown catch as he works over Eric Stokes. Quick reaction.

Will Levis looked much better on that drive, but can he stay that way? And can the Titans defense stop Malik Willis?

Malik Willis throws a screen pass to Packers backup running back Emanuel Wilson, who uses some blocking to burst through the Titans defense for a 30-yard touchdown reception. Ugly, ugly play from all three phases.

Jeffery Simmons’ holding penalty negated a missed Packers field goal by Brayden Narveson.

That’s another big special teams mistake for the Titans. Green Bay’s offense is back on the field as the penalty results in a Packers first down.

Tennessee goes for a 4th and 2 from their own 37 yard line, and Will Levis rolls up and has to run to the marker with all options covered. He is far from the line to win. The Packers will take over in Tennessee territory. Interesting call by Brian Callahan.

After the first half:

Tennessee Titans

  • Will Levis: 7-10, 66 yards, TD and INT
  • Tony Pollard: 4 carries, 7 yards
  • Calvin Ridley: No catches, 1 goal
  • DeAndre Hopkins: 1 catch, 6 yards on two targets
  • Tyler Boyd: 2 catches, 21 yards
  • Nick Vannett: 1 catch, 1 yard, TD
  • Kenneth Murray: Six total tackles, two sacks

Green Bay Packers

  • Malik Willis: 9-11, 158 passing yards; 6 carries, 73 rushing yards, TD
  • Josh Jacobs: 7 carries, 11 yards; 1 catch, 5 yards
  • Christian Watson: 2 catches, 67 yards
  • Jayden Reed: 2 catches, 39 yards; 2 carries, 19 rushing yards
  • Romeo Doubs: 1 catch, 18 yards

Green Bay defeated Tennessee in the first half 266-79.

Brayden Narveson scores from 26 yards out to extend the Packers’ lead on the final play of the first half.

Tennessee’s defense had the Packers on 3rd-and-18 from midfield after a pair of penalties, but Malik Willis found Christian Watson in the middle of the field for a gain of 37 yards, setting up the short field goal.

Willis set career records for passing yards (158) and rushing yards (73) after 30 minutes.

After the Packers reach midfield, a Kenneth Murray sack on a blitz throws the Packers offense off balance. The Titans defense forces a punt.

Tennessee’s defense is quite aggressive and applies pressure in the first half.

Will Levis throws a quick out to DeAndre Hopkins, but Jaire Alexander is in the route and pops the pass for an easy pick-six on a 35-yard return. Ouch.

Levis must not have noticed Alexander crouching on the route. Another turnover for the Titans quarterback, and this one costs a full seven points. PAT good.

Tennessee started off well in Weeks 1 and 2, but not today.

Brayden Narveson scores a 21-yard field goal to give Green Bay a 10-7 lead.

The Titans defense tried to put extra pressure on Malik Willis, but he was able to get two first downs on that drive and also held a read option open for a gain of 29 yards to set up a first-and-goal.

Willis had 72 passing yards and 62 rushing yards in the first quarter.

Will Levis starts with 5 of 7 passes for 59 yards on the Titans’ first drive, with notable throws over the middle to Tyler Boyd and Josh Whyle for first downs.

Levis finishes the drive with a 1-yard TD pass to Nick Vannett, who scores his first score as a Titan. PAT good.

Malik Willis completes a pass to Jayden Reed for 30 yards on the game’s first play, hits Christian Watson on a 1-and-1 go route on 3rd and long, and caps the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run. Oh well.

Titans defense had no answers for Willis on that drive. Roger McCreary was beaten on the Watson catch and couldn’t keep Willis out of the end zone with a chance to tackle him near the goal line.

The Titans win the toss and advance to the second half. Malik Willis will get the ball first today with the fascinating quarterback dynamic.

The Packers announce Jordan Love as one of their inactive players for Sunday’s game. Malik Willis will be the Packers’ starting quarterback today.

Cornerback Carrington Valentine is also absent.

Tyjae Spears is active for Tennessee after being considered questionable due to an ankle injury.

The complete Titans inactives:

  • DB Julius Hout
  • RB Jabari Klein
  • OLB Caleb Murphy
  • LB James Williams
  • OL John Ojukwu
  • TE David Martin-Robinson
  • TE Thomas Odukoya

Packers quarterback Jordan Love works out on the field at Nissan Stadium ahead of the 10:30 a.m. inactive players report, and he looks pretty smooth.

Titans running back Tyjae Spears is expected to play Sunday, according to NFL Network. He injured his ankle in last week’s game against the Jets and was listed as questionable.

Titans beat reporter Nick Suss’ prediction: Packers 17, Titans 13

Until the Titans offense proves otherwise, it’s hard to expect much rhythm. Levis and company will make a few plays, but the Packers’ defense is a bit too solid and the offense can do just enough to steal another win without Love.

Inactives will be announced Sunday at 10:30 a.m. For now, here is the full injury report from both teams for the game.

Titans injury report

  • RB Tyjae Spears (ankle) — Questionable

Packers Injury Report

  • OL Jordan Morgan (shoulder) — Out
  • CB Carrington Valentine (ankle) — Doubtful
  • QB Jordan Love (knee) — Questionable
