Kings to appear 13 times on NHL’s national broadcast schedule

Today more news about this year’s program, Insiders!

The LA Kings will have 13 games on the NHL national broadcast schedule for 2024-25, including eight games on ESPN networks and another five airing on TNT.

Two of those ESPN events will be via exclusive streaming rights, meaning Bally Sports West should have 69 games on TV this season. The full regional broadcast schedule for fans in the L.A. area will be announced at a later date, while those outside the regional market can watch the rest of the schedule via ESPN+.

Below you will find an overview of the distribution of the national games:

ESPN
October 22 – Kings @ Golden Knights
October 29 – Kings @ Sharks
March 27 – Kings @ Avalanche
March 30 – Kings vs. Sharks
April 14 – Kings @ Oilers
April 15 – Kings @ Kraken

The Kings will more than double their appearances at the world leader this season compared to last year’s regular-season campaign, when they had just three dates. The first will be just two days before they return to LA for their home opener in Vegas against the Golden Knights, the first domestic game on the team’s schedule.

It’s no surprise that ESPN has two bouts against the Sharks and recent first-overall selection Macklin Celebrini on the schedule. The first takes place on Oct. 29 on the Shark Tank, followed by a March 30 clash at Crypto.com Arena.

ESPN’s schedule also includes a March 27 game against the Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, as well as a postseason rematch between the Kings and Oilers in Edmonton on April 14. That Oilers game is the first of a back-to-back for L.A., both of which will be televised on ESPN, with the second half played in Seattle.

TNT, truTV, MAX
October 30 – Kings vs. Golden Knights
November 13 – Kings @ Avalanche
December 4 – Kings vs. Stars
January 22 – Kings vs. Panthers
February 26 – Kings vs. Canucks

All five Kings games airing on TNT this season will be contests between two teams that qualified for the 2024 playoffs, including the lone trip to LA for the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers in January.

Just eight days after the Kings and Golden Knights’ first battle of the season on ESPN, that same division rivalry will be on display on TNT as the two teams face off for a second time in downtown Los Angeles.

The Kings’ first trip of the season to Colorado will also be on TNT in November, as will a Dec. 4 home game for LA against Dallas, who are fresh off a trip to the Western Conference Final after finishing No. 1 in the conference during the regular season and just one point shy of the Presidents’ Trophy.

Four of the five TNT games will be broadcast from Crypto.com Arena, including a Feb. 26 game against last season’s Pacific Division regular season winner in Vancouver.

ESPN+ / Hulu
December 19 – Kings @ Flyers
April 10 – Kings vs. Ducks

Finally, the Kings have two games exclusive to ESPN+/Hulu, regardless of market. These games will not be televised, but will stream exclusively on ESPN+ or Hulu. The streaming schedule begins on December 19, when the Kings visit Philadelphia, and also includes an April 10 game in Anaheim.

The NHL also announced multiple schedule changes as part of its national television schedule, affecting the Kings for six of their games in 2024-25.

October 30 – Vegas @ Los Angeles – Start time changed from 7:30pm PT to 7:00pm PT
December 19 – Los Angeles @ Philadelphia – Start time changed from 7:00pm ET to 7:30pm ET
February 8 – Anaheim @ Los Angeles – Start time changed from 7:00pm PT to 7:30pm PT
March 27 – Los Angeles @ Colorado – start time changed from 7:00pm MT to 8:00pm MT
March 30 – San Jose @ Los Angeles – Start time changed from 6:00pm PT to 7:00pm PT
April 10 – Anaheim @ Los Angeles – Start time changed from 7:30pm PT to 7:00pm PT

In addition to the upcoming announcement of Bally Sports West’s training schedule, we also expect more clarity on what the team’s training camp schedule will look like, including broadcast information for those games in the coming weeks.

It’s now just three weeks until the Rookie Faceoff in El Segundo, marking the return of the Southern California hockey season this fall!
