Hannover Municipality asks residents to report washouts and flooding hazards

The Rural Municipality (RM) of Hanover is asking local residents to report all unbarricaded washed away roads and all homes threatened by flooding. Reports of flooded streets, farmland and overflowing ditches are not considered emergencies.

Residents are asked to call the Public Works Department at 204-346-7129. The front desk will send Public Works staff to handle any emergencies.

Officials say empty sandbags are available for pickup at the Hanover Public Works yard at 25145 Road 33N, south of Kleefeld. Sand can be ordered privately through a local supplier for delivery.

The public is also reminded that utility companies maintain the RM lift stations to ensure the sewer system continues to function.
