Fact Check: Did Shavkat Rakhmonov Call Leon Edwards the N-Word After UFC 304?

Did Shavkat Rakhmonov really call Leon Edwards the N-word? This shocking claim has the UFC community in an uproar. Emotions ran high after a heated UFC 304 main event. Leon Edwards, despite a strong effort, lost to Belal Muhammad. His performance, marked by determination, was not enough to retain his title.

Shortly after, a tweet surfaced, supposedly from Rakhmonov. It used insulting language to ridicule Edwards. But is this true? Did Rakhmonov actually post such a tweet?

Wait a minute! Was Rakhmonov’s tweet REALLY a racist insult?

According to a post on Reddit, Shavkat Rakhmonov tweeted: “Haha, nice job nigga @LeonEdwards. Not (laughing emoji).” The claim quickly spread and caused outrage among fans and fighters. However, after investigation, it was confirmed that this tweet was fake. There is no record of such a tweet on Rakhmonov’s official Twitter account.

The only tweet Rakhmonov posted after UFC 304 was to congratulate Belal on the win. He said, “Congrats on your well-deserved win, @bullyb170! I hope you keep your word and defend your belt against me when you’re ready, champ.”

Now let’s talk about the fight itself. Belal Muhammad put on a dominant performance against Leon Edwards at UFC 304. He used a mix of takedowns and effective punches to keep Edwards off balance throughout the fight. The judges gave the fight 48-47, 48-47, 49-46 in favor of Muhammad, making him the new welterweight champion.

Edwards, despite his best efforts, could not match Muhammad’s relentless pace and strategic execution. Although he managed a few strong reversals and strikes, it was not enough to convince the judges. Muhammad’s victory was clear and well-deserved, and ended Edwards’ reign as champion.

Pimblett reacts to Muhammad’s win over Edwards

While the arena was buzzing with Paddy Pimblett’s first round triumph, the mood behind the scenes was changing. The English lightweight, fresh from his spectacular win over King Green, couldn’t hide his disappointment when he saw fellow countryman Leon Edwards lose his title.

As captured on his YouTube channel, Paddy’s reaction was telling. When Belal Muhammad was declared the new welterweight champion, Pimblett shook his head in disapproval and told his team: “Most boring champion ever.” Clearly, Paddy had hoped for a different outcome, and wanted Edwards to retain the belt over Muhammad, whom he referred to as “Bully B.”

Despite the gloom behind the scenes, Paddy’s mood brightened somewhat during the post-match interview. He confidently named Renato Moicano as his next potential opponent, showing that he is ready to move on and climb further up the rankings.
