Sponsored post Our dependency on the cloud is growing steadily and more and more different services are being hosted in the cloud.

The unfortunate consequence of this increasing dependency is that cybercriminals are increasingly inclined to hack open cloud platforms so they can get their hands on our data.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, cloud security is often at the top of CISOs’ agendas, but it’s a complex topic to keep track of. Anyone looking to get a better handle on this ever-changing landscape should mark their calendars for Tuesday, August 27, when the SANS Cloud Security Exchange 2024 event takes place.

This annual gathering of top security minds is completely free and offers security professionals everywhere the opportunity to learn from and network with experts and peers to build on their existing cloud security knowledge. This virtual event features insights from some of the biggest names in the cloud industry – Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure – for example, as well as experienced thought leaders and instructors from the SANS Institute itself.

Those who tune in can get the inside track on the latest and most effective cloud security architectures and pick up tips on cloud threat detection. They can swap notes on best practices and gather actionable advice to help build robust cloud security capabilities for their organization.

In addition to listening to expert panels, attendees can participate in interactive sessions where they can ask questions and get answers from experts in real time. They can tap into a wealth of knowledge and resources that can be incorporated directly into their cloud security strategies. Additionally, they will earn five Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits to add to the credits they have already earned by participating in specialized training, which counts toward valuable professional certification.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the sessions available that day:

Evolving cloud security with a modern approach: Dr. Anton Chuvakin, Security Advisor at Google Cloud, will explore why organizations struggle to implement effective cloud security despite the availability of traditional best practices. He will examine some of the newer best practices that are emerging.

Identity modernization: Microsoft’s Angelica Faber and the SANS Institute’s Simon Vernon discuss the changes in digital identity and the impact of generative AI technologies on it.

Secure by Design: Guiding Principles for Proactive Security: Paul Vixie, VP at AWS, and Eric Johnson of the SANS Institute discuss how security can be embraced as a core requirement for enterprises using the principles of Secure by Design.

Challenges, Hype and Opportunities in AI Security: Brandon Evans and Ahmed Abugharbia of the SANS Institute discuss how AI can enable criminals to exploit new attack methods.

Senior security professionals can use this unique event to network with thousands of like-minded attendees from around the world, all passionate about improving cloud security.
