Derrick Henry “felt kind of good” about his good play in Dallas

Ravens running back Derrick Henry is living and training in Dallas during the offseason, so there were some who expected the Cowboys to pursue Henry when he became a free agent this offseason.

Henry never had a phone callthough, and his only game in Dallas this season came when the Ravens visited on Sunday. The Cowboys got a healthy dose of what they’re missing.

Henry rushed for 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-25 victory. The Cowboys did their best to recover, cutting Baltimore’s 28-6 lead in the fourth quarter, but they rushed for just 51 yards in the game and a more effective rushing attack might have allowed them to avoid the need for a furious comeback.

After the match, Henry said he was extra energized because of the location of the match.

“I adhere to a high standard“I definitely wanted to come here and make an impact and give us a chance to win, the way I played,” Henry said via the team’s website. “Being in Dallas — this is where I spend most of my time in the offseason. It definitely felt good today.”

In his own post-game comments, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team couldn’t afford it Henry was under the salary cap when he was asked to opt out this offseason. That deficit was costly for the Cowboys on Sunday.
