Dak Prescott Says Teammates Expect Expensive Gifts After New Cowboys Contract

Dak Prescott has a brand new contract and his teammates expect him to help them.

Early Sunday, it was reported that Prescott and the Cowboys had agreed to an NFL-record four-year, $240 million contract. After the Dallas Cowboys won their Week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns 33-17, Prescott told reporters that his teammates had been dropping some not-so-subtle hints that they wanted gifts.

Prescott said of his teammates, “They expect Rolex watches. … Everybody gives me their wrist size.”

That’s hilarious. And expected.

Prescott led the Cowboys to a dominant victory in Week 1, completing 19 of 32 passes for 179 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions. Receiver CeeDee Lamb agreed to a new four-year, $136 million contract of his own a few weeks ago, and he also made his first appearance since signing on Sunday. Lamb caught five passes for 61 yards that day.

The Cowboys’ offense wasn’t clean in Week 1, but the Browns were so bad that it ultimately didn’t matter. Prescott and Lamb are now the highest-paid quarterback-receiver duo in NFL history, worth $376 million. They’ll have to put up higher numbers than they did on Sunday to be worth it.
