Commanders beat Bengals with stunning stats

On Monday night, Jayden Daniels showed why the Washington Commanders believe they have found their future franchise quarterback.

The Heisman Trophy winner had the best day of his young NFL career during a 38-33 victory over the Bengals in Cincinnati. Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, finished the night with two passing touchdowns and used his legs to add another score.

The former LSU star also completed 21 of 23 passes. His 91.3 percent completion percentage set the league’s rookie record. Washington improved to 2-1 on Monday, while the Bengals surprisingly fell to 0-3.

In addition to Daniels’ impressive statistics, the Commanders-Bengals game also resulted in a notable lack of involvement from both teams’ punting units.

SUPER BOWL CHAMPION ‘TIRED OF EXCUSES’ FOR JOE BURROW: ‘YOU DON’T GET ANY PROFITS’

According to data from the Elias Sports Bureau, Monday night’s game marked the first time in the Super Bowl era that an NFL game ended without either team committing a point or turnover.

Washington played an efficient offense throughout the game, preventing the Commanders from getting into situations where they had to kick the ball to the other team.

The Commanders scored on every possession except for knee benders at the end of each half. They have not kicked or given the ball away in their last two games.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow also had a strong showing, rushing for a season-high 324 yards and three scores. The Bengals just couldn’t keep up, though. Cincinnati is off to its worst start since losing its first 11 games en route to a 2-14 finish in 2019.
