Chad McQueen, ‘Karate Kid’ villain and son of Steve McQueen, has died

Chad McQueen, known for his appearance in the 1984 film The Karate Kid and the sequel, as well as his career in motorsport, has died at the age of 63.

His wife Jeanie and two of his children, Chase and Madison, shared the sad news on social media on Thursday, along with two vintage photos of him.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Chad McQueen,” the statement began. “His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering devotion to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and dedication. His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent, but also served as a way to honor his father’s legacy, a testament to the values ​​instilled in him. He passed on his passion, knowledge and dedication to us, and we will continue to carry on not only his legacy, but that of our grandfathers as well. As a family, we must navigate this difficult time and we kindly ask for privacy as we remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”

The son of iconic actor Steve McQueen and Neile Adams, the younger McQueen had only one credited acting role to his name when he played Dutch, a member of the villainous Cobra Kai, the group that plagued Daniel LaRusso in the film.
