Bachelorette Jenn Tran took her flight from ‘DWTS’ right after the live finale

It’s been a dramatic 24 hours for The BacheloretteIt’s Jenn Tran.

Last night, the medical resident student was reduced to tears live on stage at After the Final Rose when she watched footage of herself proposing to contestant Devin Strader in Hawaii. But it wasn’t exactly a happy ending for the couple, as Tran then revealed that Strader had shockingly broken off their engagement over the phone last month.

After reflecting on the painful memories — and having a difficult, understandably frustrating conversation with Strader about their breakup — in front of a live audience, Tran had less than an hour before her life started moving again and she was on a flight to New York City to another one live performance as part of Dancing with the stars Season 33 cast reveal on Good morning America Wednesday morning.

Now, the 26-year-old is ready to leave the past behind and embark on a brand new adventure at the dance competition. “I feel good. It’s a wide range of emotions, but overall I feel good,” she says. Entertainment weekly“Ready to enter this new era.”

But it wasn’t exactly easy – literal — to get here. “Last night I was on stage crying, I did the whole breakup, I come back to the dressing room and I’m basically told I have 45 minutes to get on my flight,” she explains. “It all just happened and was thrown together very, very last minute.”

Tran, however, is no quitter. “I got in a car. I didn’t even have my stuff packed, I just had my purse,” she recalls. “I was sweaty. I didn’t even have a sweater. I was just running (from one place to another) and through the airport.”

In fact, she met her pro partner, Sasha Farber, for the first time at the airport. “And now we’re here!” she cheers.

Although she doesn’t have much of a dance background – unless you count the ballroom dance class she took in college, which she successfully completed – Tran is ready to put her best foot forward at the DWTS dance floor.

“I’m very competitive and I set high standards for myself. Whatever I do, I want to put everything into it,” she says.

Dancing with the stars premieres September 17 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming the following day on Hulu.
