Aston Villa 1-0 Bayern Munich: Champions League – live reaction | Champions League

Important events

Emi Martínez speaks to TNT after his late heroics: “It’s unreal, it’s the loudest Villa Park I’ve heard since I joined the club. It is a club that is moving forward, that is the main reason why I have stayed at this football club. I love playing here and I love the fans.

“We are more committed defensively in the Champions League. I think we need to transfer that to the Premier League now, we are conceding some sloppy goals in the Premier League.”

About Durán: “He is on fire. He came back this season with a different mentality. He is willing to work hard and push Ollie to his limits so that they can play together.

“It is an evening we will remember for a long time.”

GOAL! Aston Villa 1-0 Bayern Munich (Durán 79)

He’s done it again! It’s a stunning result from the substitute who can’t stop scoring. The ball comes from Pau Torres in defense and Durán tries to run in behind Upamecano. The central defender is next to him, but Durán notes that Neuer is – according to – out of line. From about 25 yards, Durán uses the bounce expertly to hit the ball over the keeper’s head and into the net.
