Chicago Sky star rookie forward Angel Reese delivered a fantastic second-half performance en route to tying her career-high with 20 rebounds. However, the Connecticut Sun won a back-and-forth game, defeating the Sky 82-80.

Five days earlier, Reese grabbed 20 boards (along with 19 points) against the Phoenix Mercury. With her performance on Friday, Reese made WNBA history.

Reese didn’t score in the first half, but finished with 13 points. She helped Sky overcome a 10-point halftime deficit, and the team even led by as many as six points in the final quarter.

Reese was in good form on both ends, blocking early in the third quarter and working the boards during a 15-5 run.

Reese remained active on the glass and followed up on her miss, cutting the Sun’s lead to one point.

Sky fans were very appreciative of her efforts.

The Sky led 80-77 after Reese’s two free throws with 1:52 left, but the Sun hit five free throws in the final period to win. Alyssa Thomas’ pair with four seconds left put the Sun ahead for good.

It was a heavy defeat for Sky, but it was hard not to be impressed by Reese’s superb second half and her continued excellence on the rebound.

The Sky now play at home against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Time).
