A podcast about the Jacksonville Jaguars’ loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in bad shape.

The Jaguars entered Week 3 with a lot of pressure on their shoulders and needed a win on Monday Night Football in the worst way possible. But instead of fixing their problems and finding a way to beat the Buffalo Bills, the Jaguars completely fell apart on a national level in a 47-10 loss.

The 47 points were good for the fourth-most points given up in franchise history, while the 37-point loss was the worst of the Doug Pederson era.

To recap the Jaguars’ latest loss, we have a straight-to-the-reaction episode of our Jacksonville Jaguars Insider Podcast for you.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson also spoke Monday night. Below is a partial transcript of

Q: What did he see that was wrong from the start?

Pederson: “I mean, just kind of the same stuff, right? (unintelligible) Yeah, it just wasn’t right.”

Q: Were the Bills surprised by their pass-heave offense?

Pederson: “No, that’s kind of what their offense has been this year. You know, they’ve executed well and a lot of things have come from that. They’ve done a good job, you know, executing their offense.”

Q: How is QB Trevor Lawrence’s confidence right now?

Pederson: “You know, if he’s anything like me right now, we’re all kind of down, right? You know, probably not that high. You know, we just got to keep working and keep pushing and keep working our way out of it.”

Q: Can he make changes immediately?

Pederson: We looked at the tape and decided to make this week a short week. I don’t know some of those answers.

Q: Will he stick with the current plan or will he choose a different direction?

Pederson: “Well, I don’t necessarily think you’re going to go the other way. You’ve invested a lot of time into it. But there’s got to be changes, whether it’s game design, personnel, everything’s on the table, let’s call it that, right? Those are all things that we have to look at, we have to look at as a staff and make the adjustments.”

Q: What if the boys don’t respond to what you’re trying to do?

Pederson: “It’s not because you don’t try hard enough or you don’t try hard enough or anything like that. I just think sometimes you just have to get out of your own way, right? We keep digging ourselves in early in the game and we can’t seem to get out of it, especially because this game was so one-sided today.”
