Amazon Prime Day is usually a good time to buy a vacuum cleaner. Many of our favorite models are on sale, and if you’re looking for an expensive item – like a Dyson V15 Detect, described by cleaning consultant Jon Gibbons as the “pinnacle of what a cordless vacuum cleaner should be” – they’re often cheaper than you’ll find them all year round, outside of Black Friday. (Check back on Black Friday – we’ll see if it’s on sale then too.) It’s also a great opportunity to pick up specialist cleaning tools that may seem like an unnecessary expense at full price, but well worth it on sale is. , like a stain-resistant portable carpet cleaner that’s a Strategist bestseller (on sale for $82) or Marie Kondo’s favorite air purifier.

To help you navigate a sale day that’s often chaotic and sprawling, I’ve sifted through a giant spreadsheet of deals to find the best value on the vacuums and cleaning tools we trust, most of which Strategist staffers have tested ourselves and put into our own products use houses. The Shark Navigator Lift-Away is a great vacuum cleaner that is suitable for everyone. It’s lightweight, versatile, easy to maneuver into nooks and crannies, and has a removable pod for cleaning stairs or other narrow spaces.

An expert-recommended vacuum cleaner designed to suck up pet hair, now 26 percent off.

The Shark Vertex Ultra has a clever design that allows the stick to bend, making it easier to navigate under sofas and chairs. Today it’s almost 50 percent off.

This Shark model is one of our favorite cordless vacuum cleaners. Features include an XL dust cup and an anti-allergenic seal, useful if you deal with environmental allergies.

You rarely see Dysons this cheap without going on Facebook Marketplace. The V8, V11 and V15 are earlier models of the brand’s cordless stick vacuum cleaner and are still incredibly powerful and well designed. (The Dyson V15 vacuum was our top pick in its class before it was dethroned by the newer Gen5detect.)

The Shark Stratos was “neck and neck” with more expensive Dyson models in testing – and today it’s on sale for around a third of the price.

The Bissell Little Green is one of our favorite tools for cleaning up stains on carpets and upholstered furniture. It’s always on sale on Prime Day, and it’s always a good deal.

The Roomba j7+ is our best robot vacuum cleaner in its class. It “was the first robot vacuum I trusted to clean my floors,” writes strategist, technical writer, and floor care obsessive Jordan McMahon.

It’s a splurge, but this is the best deal I’ve ever seen on the Roborock Qrevo, at about $100. It’s McMahon’s favorite mop and vacuum combo because of its speed and effectiveness: “In just under two hours, he did two full sweeps and sweeps of my entire three-bedroom house, and my floors were spotless,” he wrote.

A compact, USB-rechargeable vacuum cleaner for every small corner where crumbs can be hidden.

Remove hard water on glass shower doors with this German vacuum extractor. (Former quarterback-writer Chris Mandle’s entire family owns one.)

Coway’s ultra-reliable air purifier is often on sale on Prime Day. It’s a game-changer if you have environmental allergies.

A version of Marie Kondo’s air purifier is on sale for 46 percent off. “What I like about it is not just the filtering ability, but the way the design integrates into our home and life,” she says.
