10 Fast Facts About The Chiefs Week 2 Win Over Cincinnati

2. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes made NFL history on Sunday with his win.

Mahomes won his 76th regular-season game as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback on Sunday, tying Tom Brady and Roger Staubach for the most wins at quarterback in 100 starts in NFL history.

Mahomes, who started 98 games in his career, now has two chances to break the NFL record.

3. Safety Chamarri Conner played a game he will never forget.

Conner played a key role in two decisive games on Sunday, and without his contributions, the Chiefs likely would never have won.

His first crucial play came early in the fourth quarter. The Bengals were in position to extend their six-point lead after a Chiefs turnover, but defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton strip-sacked Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and Conner scooped up the loose ball. The sophomore safety returned the fumble all the way for a 38-yard touchdown, and just like that, the Chiefs had the lead.

Conner made another key play later in the game as Cincinnati, up by two and on third down, tried to run out the clock. Conner, who looked like he was shot out of a cannon during a blitz, had other ideas, however, as he tackled Burrow and ended the drive.

The Bengals gave the ball away and Cincinnati would never see it again.
