Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase scored his first touchdown of the season during the first quarter of NFL Week 3 game against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football at Paycor Stadium.

It was Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s 100th career touchdown pass. It was Chase’s 30th career TD catch.

Burrow and Chase combined for another touchdown in the fourth quarter.

“I think it’s safe to say Ja’Marr was a little frustrated at the beginning of the season,” ABC commentator Joe Buck said.

Chase didn’t celebrate the TD with the “Griddy” dance he’s known for. He said last week that he had something else planned, but wouldn’t say what. He did add that the “Griddy” isn’t retired, and proved that when he did the dance after his second TD of the game.

Video of the first celebration, from the Bengals via Twitter:

Chase entered the game with 10 catches for 97 yards in two weeks, without a TD. He has scored 29 TDs in his first three NFL seasons; 13 as a rookie, nine in 2022 and seven last season.
