ESPN analyst Jesse Palmer lashes out at Florida fan criticizing ‘friend zone’

How can it get any worse if you’re a Florida Gators fan? Oh, it does.

ESPN color commentator Jesse Palmer, who hosts “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” friend-zoned a male fan from Florida during the broadcast of the Gators’ 33-20 loss to Texas A&M on Saturday.

Palmer joked about the fan’s moustache and the blue-and-orange jumpsuit he wore without an undershirt as he sat in the stands with a group of girls.

“He has a mustache… I’m going to make a bold prediction,” Palmer, who excelled as a quarterback for the Gators in the late 1990s, said with two minutes left in the fourth quarter as he described the fan.

“I think that guy is in the friend zone.”

ESPN reporter Joe Tessitore couldn’t contain his laughter.

“Listen, you’re a top analyst. I’m just saying, you know how to give analysis,” Tessitore said.

“Years of relationships and dating, I’ve seen it up close and personal at my other job,” Palmer explained, referring to ABC’s “The Bachelor.”

“I think, and I’m just saying, that he’s a good listener.”

“Bachelor Nation is in dire need of this kind of analysis, Katie,” Tessitore told reporter Katie George.

“Don’t kick a man while he’s in the ground, Jesse! Leave him alone,” George added.

“No! I think he’s a great guy,” Palmer said. “I don’t think he’s a bad guy. I’m just saying I don’t think he’s dating anyone in the picture right now.”

The arrest occurred as ESPN’s cameras focused on him and the group of girls, who were wearing Gators blue and orange, including two girls wearing matching overalls.

The loss to Texas A&M moved Florida to 1-2 after being trounced 41-17 by Miami in their opener. The Gators’ lone win came against Samford.

The video went viral on social media and many people responded to it with enthusiasm.

“No choice but to move to Florida St after this,” someone wrote on X.

“This is wild, there’s no going back. Dude gets a new outfit, gym routine, eating plan, and new friend group,” someone wrote on X.

“Jesse Palmer is so underrated,” added another.
