Fans of “Yellowstone” may still be in for a surprise.

Deadline reported last week that the popular Western TV series “probably won’t be ending” after the highly anticipated release of the final episodes of season five. The outlet noted that the potential new season will star Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, making the romance between Beth and Rip the main event.

Sources told the outlet that no deal has been finalized, but that there is a strong push to continue “Yellowstone” after Kevin Costner’s departure. According to Deadline, Reilly and Hauser have been working on continuing Beth and Rip’s romance, but it was originally planned as a spinoff series.

On Friday, “Yellowstone” released a first look at the upcoming season five finale. The footage shows the feud between the Dutton siblings, with Jaimie (Wes Bentley) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) getting into a heated exchange.

“If you destroy me, you destroy yourself,” Jaime said, to which Beth replied, “Unlike you, I keep my promises.”

Costner has appeared in previous episodes, but John Dutton will not return to close out the fifth and previously considered final season of the hit series.

The final episode of the first half of the fifth season aired in January 2023, ending on a cliffhanger in which the members of the Dutton Family, led by John Dutton, are on the verge of all-out war with each other.

The final episodes of season five will be released on November 10 on Paramount Network.

Below is a look at the spin-off series that have been created and are in the works since “Yellowstone” became a fan favorite series.

‘The Madison’

Michelle Pfeiffer is the latest star to join the “Yellowstone” universe. The 66-year-old actress will lead the popular flagship series’ spinoff show “The Madison,” which she will also executive produce, Variety reported this month,

Pfeiffer confirmed the casting news in a post she shared on her Instagram page.

“Yellowstone” maker Taylor Sheridan will write “The Madison,” a film about a New York City family now living in the Madison River valley in central Montana, Paramount Network announced, via Variety.

The network described “The Madison,” originally called “2024,” as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection.”

“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who brings emotional depth, authenticity and grace to every role. She is the perfect anchor for the newest chapter in the ‘Yellowstone’ universe, ‘The Madison,’ from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan,” Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and president and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement to Variety.

Pfeiffer is joined by “Lost” star Matthew Fox and “Suits” star Patrick J. Adams. Deadline reported that Fox will star opposite Pfeiffer.

“The Madison” marks Pfeiffer’s return to television after starring as Betty Ford on the Showtime anthology series “The First Lady” in 2022. A premiere date for the new show has not yet been announced.

‘farmer’

Demi Moore, Jon Hamm and Billy Bob Thornton star in “Landman,” also from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan. He based the film on Christian Wallace’s podcast “Boomtown.”

“Landman” will be released on Paramount in the fall and is about an oil industry crisis manager (Thorton) who solves the problems in West Texas.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Thorton explained that filming the series pushed him and his crew members to their limits.

“There were days I thought not only me, but everyone on the crew was going to pass out,” Thornton told the outlet. “It was so hot sometimes, and we’re shooting these oil pumps. Do you know what caliche is?”

“We’re driving on these caliche roads with the rocks in them and everything, and I’m wearing cowboy boots, and there are scenes where I have to run to the truck,” he continued. “It’s a hundred degrees with a hundred percent humidity. Jesus Christ, I’m in my 60s! This just sucks. My God, there were days when it was pretty tough. This was probably the toughest thing I’ve ever done.”

Moore spoke of Sheridan’s “unique way” of working with actors without a script.

“Taylor works in a very unique way, and every actor he meets — we basically sit down, we hear what he wants to do, where he wants to go, and we have to say yes or no based on that. There’s no script,” she said.

“Landman” comes to Paramount+ on November 17.

‘6666’

The series “6666” focuses on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, which was seen in the present day in “Yellowstone.”

‘1944’

Fans can expect the “Yellowstone” franchise to take a look into the future with a new spinoff series tentatively titled “1944.”

In April 2023, Paramount Media Networks President and CEO Chris McCarthy confirmed that Matthew McConaughey would star in a spinoff series of “Yellowstone.” There were rumors that McConaughey would star in “1944,” but it is unclear if that is the case.

The director also revealed at the time that the “Dallas Buyers Club” star’s series is one of more than 10 projects he’s working on with “Yellowstone” creator Sheridan.

“In just five years, we’ve grown ‘Yellowstone’ from a successful U.S. cable series with five million viewers to a global hit franchise with over 100 million fans worldwide and multiple extensions. And we’re just getting started.”

‘1883’

The prequel series, “1883,” was released in December 2021. The series provided “Yellowstone” fans with context about the Dutton family’s journey to Montana.

Led by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, the country music stars They have been married for a long time and have children in real life. They play a couple who travel west through the untouched wilderness with their children, in search of new opportunities.

James Dutton (McGraw) and Margaret Dutton (Hill) have two children in the television series. Isabel May plays Elsa Dutton, with Audie Rick as her younger brother.

The Dutton family’s journey, which takes them across the Great Plains to the Montana Territory, is part of the westward expansion that reflected the nation’s belief that it was destined to colonize all of North America.

The cast also included Sam Elliott, Billy Bob Thornton and LaMonica Garrett.

‘1923’

The following year, Paramount released the second prequel series, “1923”.

In “1923” Harrison Ford plays an ancestor of John Dutton, played by Costner on “Yellowstone.” Helen Mirren plays Ford’s wife, Cara Dutton, in the series.

The series, also created by Sheridan, follows the Dutton family and chronicles the early 20th century and all the hardships of the time, including Western expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression.

In addition to Ford and Mirren, the series also stars Brandon Skelnar, Julia Schlaepfer and Michelle Randolph.

Paramount+ announced in February 2023 that the series will return for a second season.
