Xavier Worthy slams NFL analyst after sensational debut

The Kansas City Chiefs opened the 2024 regular season with a bang on Thursday night, beating the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 to open the new season with a 1-0 record.

This offseason, general manager Brett Veach has done a tremendous job of adding more playmakers to the roster. They drafted wide receiver Xavier Worthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and he played a key role in Thursday’s win.

NBC Sports’ Rodney Harrison spoke about Worthy prior to the game and said he’s not afraid of him.

Harrison said: “Xavier Worthy is a small, skinny guy. I don’t mind him, I know he’s fast, but I’m not afraid of him.”

Worthy responded on social media shortly after the match.

Worthy responded on his Instagram story to the clip of Harrison speaking before the match, saying: “Word!!”.

Instead of letting those comments get to him, the Texas product showed up in his NFL debut. Worthy finished with two receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown. He also had one carry for 21 yards and another score.

This is a great sign for both Chiefs and Worthy. He impressed in his first outing and his confidence is now sky high.

Harrison may want to be careful what he says about Worthy and the other players in the squad, as they are paying close attention.

The Chiefs already have a long list of haters and doubters who don’t want them to win this season. But no matter what they say, Kansas City has shown that they are still the team to beat in the NFL.
