Why Pamela Anderson Isn’t in the New ‘Baywatch’ Documentary

Pamela Anderson comes to terms with her past.

The blonde bombshell, 57, did not participate in the new four-part Hulu docuseries about “Baywatch,” the show that made her world famous in the 1990s.

“After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” features new interviews about the show and its legacy with many former cast members, except Anderson.

According to TMZ, Anderson was asked to participate in the documentary, but she declined.

Insiders claimed she has “no bad blood” with any of her former co-stars and that she has “always loved” her role as CJ Parker.

However, Anderson is now “in a different chapter of her life,” the insiders said, adding that she is focusing on the bigger opportunities that have come her way.

Anderson is busy with two new films coming out soon.

She stars in “The Last Showgirl,” a drama film premiering at the Toronto Film Festival on September 6. Her co-stars include Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song and Kiernan Shipka.

Anderson will also star in the fifth film, “The Naked Gun,” opposite Liam Neeson, Paul Walter Hauser and Kevin Durand. The film is set for release in 2025.

The mother of two previously opened up about her life in her Netflix documentary, “Pamela: A Love Story,” and her memoir, “Love, Pamela,” both of which were released last year.

Although Anderson turned down the “Baywatch” documentary, the project features prominent, unaired interviews with the actress.

The second episode of the docuseries, called “Show Me the Money,” is all about Anderson and how she contributed to the success of “Baywatch.”

The episode description reads: “How a young, blonde bombshell helps make ‘Baywatch’ an international hit. Her name: Pamela Anderson.”

It was no surprise that Anderson’s leaked 1996 sex tape with Tommy Lee was a big topic in the docuseries.

Michael Berk, co-creator and producer of “Baywatch,” said the actress was almost written out of the series because of the infamous scandal.

“When Pam’s sex tape came out, the studio said, ‘Look, write her out of a couple of episodes, we have to figure out what to do with this, this is a disaster,’” Berk recalled.

However, the sex tape helped boost Baywatch’s ratings, Berk said, so Anderson kept her job.

In one of her unaired interviews about the scandal, Anderson said, “It was stolen property. It was two insanely naked people in love. We were naked all the time, filming each other, pretending to be crazy.”

“But those tapes were not meant to be seen by anyone else,” the “Home Improvement” alumnus added. “I haven’t seen them to this day, it was very painful.”

Anderson also skipped the red carpet premiere for the documentary in Santa Monica on Monday night. Her former co-stars Carmen Electra, Nicole Eggert, Alexandra Paul, Jeremy Jackson, Brandy Ledford, David Chokachi and more reunited for the event.

David Hasselhoff, who played Mitch Buchannon, also did not appear, though he does appear in the docuseries in old interviews he did for “Baywatch: The Documentary.”

“After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” can be streamed on Hulu.
