Why is Snoop Dogg a Steelers fan?

Snoop joined ESPN’s ‘ManningCast’ during a 2022 broadcast. Peyton and Eli asked Snoop where his fandom came from.

Well, in the ’70s, you know, when I watched your dad (Archie Manning) and watched the Steelers and the Raiders and the Cowboys and the teams of the ’70s, I fell in love with their great defense, the the way they moved the ball, just the way they played football. As a kid they were fun to watch and as I got older I fell in love with them more because I got the chance to meet the players. I met coach (Bill) Cowher and Ben Roethlisberger, you know, Jerome Bettis and the rest of the guys and you know, I became part of Steeler Nation.

Defense wins championships, but apparently so does Snoop’s fandom for you. The brothers asked Snoop about the open QB vacancy in Pittsburgh. Keep in mind that this was at the end of the 2022 season, when Ben Roethlisberger was on the verge of retirement. Which QB did Snoop say he wanted the team to go after? Russell Wilson.
